RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

ILFORD has had a strong background in silver halide technology that has led to the development of world class polymer and porous photo inkjet media, inks and photo inkjet dyes. The capabilities of the Research and Development Team includes:

• Silver halide photography materials and chemicals and silver dye bleach materials
• Multi-layer coating technology
• Innovative inkjet media design and manufacturing
• Functional and optical layers
• Imaging science
• Dispersion technology
• Dye & ink technology
• Organic synthesis & scale-up
• Analytical chemistry and testing

The R&D team has extensive experience in joint development of new technologies and is committed to promoting international standards and cooperation. The team actively participates in international standards committees (ISO TC 42, WG5) and in technical commissions in the area of image quality and stability, colour and nano technology (SATW, Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences)). In addition, the team represents ILFORD on SNV (Swiss national Standards Body), CIC and the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T)
